Banfi (UK) Holden/Sergant Jammer

Banfi create a nervous and off-kilter sound, blending a deep streak of melancholic sentimentality with rhythmically infectious indie rock. They simultaneously bring to mind the out of step anthems of The Police, and the arena punch of Biffy Clyro alongside some of the 21st century’s more idiosyncratic indie heroes like Bombay Bicycle Club and Foals. Whilst some bands in the era of social media have played into narcissism, memes and self-referential irony, Banfi’s melodic songwriting very deliberately deals with themes of loss, hope and emotional ambiguity.
Establishing themselves as an essential new British indie- pop band to watch in 2018, recent singles ‘Caroline’, ‘June’ and ‘Happy When You Go’ have seen support from BBC 6 Music, Radio X, Nylon, Wonderland, Clash, GQ, NME and more. Banfi have already played the likes of Citadel, Great Escape and Bushstock, supported Bear’s Den, Nathaniel Rateliff, Amber Run and Tempesst on tour, as well as having their own residency at The Old Blue Last and sold out headline dates across the UK.
