Ben Osborne is an award winning DJ, musician, producer and writer. An
all-round creative, he plays internationally, releases music under various
names, including two recent singles as Les Hommes Du Train. He is a
broadcaster and has presented long running specialist shows for cult London
radio stations Xfm and NME Radio. He has written a critically praised book
on the history of electronic music called "The A-Z of Club Culture" and
currently writes for DJ Magazine and Music Week.
Ben is the founder of Noise of Art, a London based collective of artists and
musicians set up to create cross platform music and visual art events. He
has commissioned and been creatively involved in cross platform art projects
involving many leading international electronic musicians, artists,
galleries and venues; including Laurent Garnier, The Tate, Booka Shade, BFI,
Coldcut, The Roundhouse, I:cube, Big Chill Festival, Fred Deakin (Lemon
Jelly), Latitude Festival, Sebastian and Kavinsky, QEH, Southbank, The
National Theatre and more. As well as putting on live events, he is a radio
presenter, club DJ, musician and works widely within music and visual art as
a performer and writer.
His work in music has ranged from DJing, playing live and writing and
producing music, to programming for major venues and festivals (including
events at the top of London's iconic BT Tower). He holds long running club
residencies in London under his Slipped Disco moniker.
A widely published writer, he has worked in different parts of the media.
His work has appeared in The Guardian, The Times, Independent On Sunday, i-D
Magazine and many others. He holds the Guinness world record for organising
the most DJs to play in one set and in 2009 was given a New Music Plus Award
by the PRSF.
